Omar Abdullah calls it ‘bad news’ for Uddhav Thackeray

Omar Abdullah made two very eye-grabbing tweets before Eknath Shinde took oath as CM.

While Eknath Shinde is prepared to take the Oath at 7:30pm in Maharashtra, Omar Abdullah made two very eye-grabbing tweets.

The first one said, “#EknathShinde as CM is very bad news for #UddhavThackarey and his branch of the Shiv Sena. Uddhav was probably counting on a BJP CM giving, him a political weapon to target Shinde with. This makes the job of rebuilding their Shiv Sena much more difficult for Thackerays.”

The follow up tweet read, “The next battle will be over the Shiv Sena symbol. If the Election Commission allots the Bow & Arrow to the Shinde faction it won’t just be an uphill struggle for Uddhav it will be akin to climbing K2 with hands & feet tied together.”

The political crisis in Maharashtra, which had been going on for days. Finally came to a standstill on Wednesday evening after Uddhav Thackeray resigned from the post of CM. Following this the Floor Test which was scheduled to happen today was also stalled.

Earlier in the day, BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis met with the media. Where he reinstated that Eknath Shinde will be the next CM of Maharashtra. Whereas he himself would not play an active role in the government.

The Oath taking is set to take place at 7:30pm at the Raj Bhavan today.
