The startup was earlier scheduled to make payments on September 4, which was already an extension from its initial deadline of July 20. In an email sent to employees on August 30, Dunzo apologized for the delay
Facebook still owes Dunzo roughly Rs 1.5 crore despite the fact that he has made partial payments to the tech giant. Dunzo used Facebook's advertising tools, but he didn't pay the whole cost.
As per the letter, team members who were expecting balance payouts of June salary during this week will have to wait till September as the situation is uncertain for the Reliance Industries backed company.
Dunzo has over 1,000 employees in total and the latest decision to defer salaries will impact about 500 of them. The move also indicates that there could be more layoffs in the pipeline.
Swiggy has observed a plunge in its revenue as the firm noted net operating revenue of Rs 2,547 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2021.
The company will use the proceeds to refinance its existing debt and will repay the entire amount by 2032 and 2062.
