Vice President Naidu blames ‘neighbours’ for creating disturbances: “They don’t want our country to progress”

Vice President, M Venkaiah Naidu arrived at Jammu and Kashmir to be the chief guest at the maiden convocation and was welcomed by J&K Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha and other officials.

Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and we are capable of solving our problem – Vice President, M Venkaiah Naidu said on Friday addressing the maiden convocation of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu. In his address as the chief guest, the Vice President of India asserted that no other country should interfere or make comments on the internal affairs of another country, reported ANI.

“J&K is an integral part of India and we are capable of solving our problem. No other country for that matter has any business to interfere or make comments on the internal affairs of another country. We believe in democracy & civilization”, Vice President, M Venkaiah Naidu said.

Earlier in the day, Mr Naidu arrived at Jammu and Kashmir to be the chief guest at the maiden convocation and was welcomed by J&K Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha, Advisor Baseer Khan, Jammu city Mayor Chander Mohan Gupta and other officials and public representatives.

Appreciating the diversity and beauty of Jammu and Kashmir, Mr Naidu said that this part of the country is very beautiful and so are the people who need to have peace. “If you have tension, you can’t pay attention” asserted the Indian Vice President in his address at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu.

“This is a very beautiful part of our country so are the people. But you need to have peace. Peace is a prerequisite to progress. If you have tension, you can’t pay attention. This has to be understood by all. That’s why peace is very much required”, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu said during his address.

On his first Jammu and Kashmir visit since August 2019 – after the abrogation of Article 370, Mr Naidu, without naming any country or individual, targeted the problem and disturbance creators and maintained that they do so “because they do not want India to progress.”

The news agency ANI quoted the Indian Vice President saying, “Some people from our neighbourhood are trying to create problems & disturbance as they don’t want our country to progress. We shouldn’t allow their attempts to succeed. We should be guided by the spirit of National Integration. We should put our nation first.

Meanwhile, during the convocation ceremony, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu Vice President Naidu awarded MBA degrees to 148 promising students. However, owing to the spike in coronavirus cases, only 200 people got entry to this ceremony. Venkaiah Naidu will remain in Jammu for the day and leave in the evening for Delhi.
