Railway Board Chairman VK Yadav on Saturday announced 80 new special trains which would be operational from September 12 in addition to 230 trains running already in operation. The reservation process for these trains would begin on September 10.

Railways will monitor the current routes and determine the ones with long waiting lists to run a clone train for the comfort of passengers. “Wherever there is a demand for a particular train, wherever the waiting list is long, we will run a clone train ahead of the actual train, so that passengers can travel,” Yadav said.

He also added that trains will also run for special purposes when there is a demand from state governments for exams. The special trains will be notified later.
