Puducherry, April 1: For the first time, Puducherry Excise Department has fetched more than Rs.1,000 crore Revenue in a financial year. Deputy Commissioner (Excise) Sudhakar in a release here on Friday said that in the previous fiscal 2021-22. The excise department had fetched a Revenue of Rs.1,063 crore. An amount of Rs.778 crore was fetched by the sale of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). Rs.151 crore through the sale of beer. Rs 63 crore as Kisti for Toddy and Arrack shops and Rs.60.5 crore from renewal of license. Sudhakar said this was possible due to the 20 percent special tax (Corona Tax) imposed on the sale of liquor.
