Prakash Javadekar blames Punjab govt of selling vaccine to private hospitals in Rs 1000

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar has targeted former Congress President Rahul Gandhi. He said on Friday that Rahul Gandhi should look at his state (Congress) before giving a speech to others. He said that more than 1.40 lakh doses of the COVID vaccine were given to the Punjab government at the rate of Rs 400 per dose. But the government there sold this vaccine to 20 private hospitals for one thousand rupees per dose.

The Union Minister said that as of date, the Central Government has provided 22 crore vaccines to the states free of cost. They (the Punjab government) had demanded decentralization of vaccination, but now they are asking for it to be centralised. Now Rahul Gandhi has come under attack from central leaders for allegedly selling vaccines to private hospitals by Punjab.

Rahul Gandhi, MP from Wayanad, has been advocating for giving free vaccines to the people. He also said this week that all citizens in the country should be vaccinated for free. The vaccine provides the strongest protection against the pandemic. He said that the vaccine is the strongest protection against the Kovid epidemic. You should also raise your voice to provide free vaccination to all and wake up the government.

Prior to Javadekar, leader of the opposition party in Punjab and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) chief Sukhbir Singh Badal has also made similar allegations. He said on Thursday that the Congress government of Punjab is selling corona vaccines to private hospitals at high prices. He claimed that the vaccine is being sold to private hospitals for Rs 1,060. There is no corona vaccine in the state. Instead of vaccinating the common people free of cost, the government is selling doses to private hospitals.

Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu has defended the government on these allegations. He said that we will put this matter in front of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh and it will be investigated.
