Hitting out at the media for not extensively discussing the suspension of members, Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said the media’s entire focus is on showing the copycat incident and not highlighting the pain and suffering from the suspended MPs.
Addressing journalists in New Delhi, Rahul Gandhi said, “The MP was sitting there, I shot his video. My video is on my phone. The media is showing this. Nobody said anything. Our 150 MPs were thrown out (from the House) but there was no discussion on it in the media. No discussion on Adani, no discussion on Rafale, no discussion on unemployment.”

The controversy erupted when suspended Trinamool Congress MP Kalyan Banerjee was seen imitating Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was seen using his phone to text Trinamool MPs during a protest along with other suspended MPs at the Makar Gate of Parliament. Was seen making a video.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Jagdeep Dhankhar to express his anguish over a member’s theatrics in the ‘sacred’ Parliament complex.
Meanwhile, raking up the mimicry controversy, Congress MP Jairam Ramesh on Wednesday claimed that it was a ploy to divert public attention from the suspension of 141 MPs from Parliament.
