The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah, tested positive for the novel Coronavirus on Sunday.

The minister took twitter today to announce the same. “On getting the initial symptoms of Coronavirus, I got the test done and the report came out to be positive. My health is fine but I am being admitted to the hospital on the advice of doctors”, tweeted the Home Minister.

The news comes a few days before the majestic ‘Bhumi Pujan’ which is scheduled to be held on August 5 to inaugurate the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

A priest and 15 policemen have already caught the COVID-19 infection at the puja site in Ayodhya.

The novel Coronavirus pandemic has infected 1.75 million people in India and has claimed more than 37,000 lives across the nation.
