India mourns the loss of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, who passed away on Thursday. Congress leader Sandeep Dikshit, on Friday, stated that the schedule for public viewing has not been finalised yet.
He explained that the schedule for last rites and public viewing will be finalized only after Singh’s daughter comes from abroad. However, he added that the last rites might take place tomorrow.
“The schedule has not been finalised. His daughter is coming from abroad and she will arrive in the afternoon or evening after that everything will be decided…the last rites might take place tomorrow…there is a delay due to the rains. They might allow for public viewing of the body after 10:00 AM today,” stated Dikshit to ANI.
Several politicians and personalities from all the sectors have been expressing their sorrow over the demise of former PM, who has often been described as the architect behind Indian reforms.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi also posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, and condoled the demise of “one of the most distinguished leaders” of India. He also paid a visit to his residence today to pay his last respects.
