
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached the residence of former prime minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh’s residence on Friday to pay his last respects to the deceased.
The man, who is being described as the architect behind Indian reforms, passed away on Thursday at the age of 91, at AIIMS Delhi.
PM Modi was accompanied by Home Minister Amit Shah and a host of leaders cutting across political lines. He also offered condolences to the former Prime Minister’s family and met his wife Gursharan Kaur.
PM Modi also shared pictures on his official X handle, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote, “Paid tributes to Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji at his residence. India will forever remember his contribution to our nation.”

Singh was earlier, on Thursday, admitted to hospital as his health deteriorated due to age – related issues. It was then confirmed by AIIMS that we have lost the former PM.
The man, who is often described as the architect of Indian reforms, also served as Finance Minister in 1991, under the then Prime Minister P. V. Narsimha Rao.
