The party has denied ticket to Mahesh Joshi and Dharmendra Rathore, but has shown trust on senior leader Shanti Dhariwal from Kota North.

On Saturday, the Congress party released their seventh and final list of candidates for the upcoming state assembly elections in the state. In this list, the party has fielded candidates on 21 seats. In a surprising move, the party has given ticket to state Cabinet Minister Shanti Dhariwal from 189-Kota North constituency.

Shanti Dhariwal was among those three names (two others are Mahesh Joshi and Dharmendra Rathore) who were involved in skipping the party’s MLA meeting last year. Moreover, in this list, the party has given ticket to NSUI Rajasthan chief Abhishek Choudhary from 46-Jhotwara constituency. Showing trust on young faces can be seen as a game-changing strategy of the ruling party in Rajasthan. National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) is the student wing of the Congress party.

After getting fielded from Jhotwara seat, Abhishek Choudhary said on social media platform X (formerly Twitter): “Thanks to the top leadership of the Congress party for declaring me as their candidate from Jhotwara assembly constituency in the Rajasthan Assembly elections 2023 by the All India Congress Committee. From the bottom of my heart, I express my gratitude to the godlike people of the area and the entire NSUI family.”

Furthermore, the Congress party has fielded sitting MLA Ved Prakash Solanki from 58-Chaksu seat, which is reserved for SC category. Solanki is said to be a crucial member of Former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot’s lobby in the party.
