Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi & Priyanka Gandhi Vadra likely to resign from their positions: Report

According to a report by NDTV, Congress party chief Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi & Priyanka Gandhi Vadra are likely to resign from their positions at the Congress meet set to be held on March 13.

This comes after the negative performance of the party in the state elections. Various Congress leaders have raised their voices demanding for a change in the party leadership. Among those who spoke out openly are senior Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor & Jaiveer Shergill as reported by NDTV.

Karnataka Congress Chief, DK Shivakumar believes that Congress will fall without the leadership of the Gandhi family. “Without the Gandhi family, the Congress party cannot stay united. They are key for the unity of the Congress party. It is impossible for the Congress to survive without the Gandhi family,” he said.

In the Punjab & Uttar Pradesh elections, Congress faced a complete defeat by Aam Aadmi Party & BJP respectively. In UP, Congress just managed to secure 2 seats out of 403 seats.
