Non-bailed warrant issued against former Karnataka CM BS Yediyurappa in POSCO case

Bengaluru court has issued a non- bailable warrant against former Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in POSCO case.

The action was taken after he failed to appear for questioning in a case under Protection Of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act. The former CM has now requested relief from the high court.


Earlier, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had issued a notice to Yediyurappa to appear for questioning on Wednesday. The 81-year-old stated that he has to leave for Delhi due to political commitment and will be able to appear before the investigators before Monday.

Mr. Yediyurappa has been booked under POSCO Act and IPC sections related to sexual harassment after a woman allegedly that the senior BJP leader sexually assaulted her 17-year-old daughter during a meeting at his residence in February.
