Maharashtra: Uddhav Thackeray, Eknath Shinde gets into war of words in Dussehra rally

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde makes a promise to give the Maratha people a reservation till the last drop of blood flows from his body.

On the auspicious occasion of Dussehra, Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray addressed a rally at Shivaji Park and launched several attacks on Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. The former CM Uddhav Thackeray said: “Raavan too was a Shiv Bhakt. But Ram had to kill him as he had become egoistic. Khokasur. We will finish them.”

“They are scared, that’s why they have stolen the bow and arrow as well. Lathicharge in Jalna like General Dyer. You have been so heartless. Maratha agitation was there when I was the CM too. Did the police use brutality? Who is the Dyer of Jalna?” he asked the public, shooting his arrow again and again towards the current CM.

Former CM Thackeray continued with his attacks on the current CM and even gave challenge to conduct elections. He said: “Conduct the elections (in Maharashtra) and the people of Maharashtra will tell you (Eknath Shinde) who is the real Shiv Sena. I challenge you to conduct election in Maharashtra,” as quoted by ANI.

On the same day, another rally was held out by another faction of the Shiv Shena which was addressed by the CM Eknath Shinde at Azad Maidan in south Mumbai, where he made attacks back on Thackery for allying with Congress and the Samajwadi Party.

CM Shinde said: “You back-stabbed Bal Thackeray by committing dishonesty with his ideological legacy. I won’t be surprised if they ally with terrorist groups like Hamas and Lashkar-e-Taiba for their own selfish motives.”

On Maratha Reservation, CM Eknath Shinde said that it’s a reasonable demand and also urged people not to take any extreme step. He said: “I also belong to the Maratha family and I can understand them very well. They have a reasonable demand for reservations. We will make sure to give Maratha a reservation that will stand legally. I am committed to giving Maratha reservations without doing injustice to any community. I take the oath of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.”

“I request people not to take any extreme steps, your family is behind you. As long as even a single drop of blood is left in my body, I will work for the Maratha reservation. The committee that has been formed has been working on this for 24 hours,” added CM Shinde.
