
On Sunday, Australia defeated India by six wickets in the World Cup Final match at Ahmedabad. With this, Australia lifted the Men’s ODI Cricket World Cup for the sixth time. Australia’s left-hand batsman Travis Head played a brilliant innings and made a winning century. And so, India’s wait to lift another ODI world cup will continue till the next one.
However, before the match’s result was clear, Congress General Secretary addressed a public rally in the poll bound state Telangana’s Asifabad where she remembered her grandmother and former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary, Priyanka Gandhi said that Indira Gandhi was PM in 1983 when India lifted the world cup.
“I remember, when INDIA won the Cricket World Cup in 1983. At that time, Indira ji was very happy, she had called the entire team home for tea. Today is Indira ji’s birthday, and we will definitely win the World Cup again,” said Priyanka Gandhi.

“Even today, after so many years, Indira Gandhi and her works are remembered. People in remote villages of the country share their memories with my grandmother. You remember Indira ji because as much love and respect you had for her, Indira ji also loved you and respected you equally,” added Priyanka Gandhi.
“For her, the public was paramount,” concluded Priyanka Gandhi.
The Congress General Secretary also attacked ruling BRS in Telangana over unemployment issue and said: “Today unemployment is at its peak in Telangana. The Congress government of Chhattisgarh has taken strict steps against unemployment, the unemployment rate there is very low. The Congress government of Rajasthan has also provided 2 lakh jobs so far and preparations are underway to provide 1 lakh jobs. We can speak with pride about Congress governments because they have done such work.”
“Young friends, if you want a job, then don’t give job to KCR and KTR. If you want a job, then this government will have to change,” added Priyanka Gandhi.
Well, the elections in Telangana are scheduled to take place on November 30, in a single phase, followed by the counting of votes and declaration of results on December 3.
