
As per the Election Commission of India, Bharatiya Janata Party is leading on seven out of eight assembly seats in Gujarat by-polls, at the moment.
According to the commission, BJP has recorded a 53.13 percent vote share till 10.30 am and the Indian National Congress vote share stands at 35.1 percent.
On November 3, the by-elections for eight assembly seats were conducted by the poll panel and votes counting began at 8 am today. The by-elections were held due to the resignation of Congress MLAs ahead of the Rajya Sabha polls which were held this year in June.
5 of the resigned Congress MLA later joined the BJP and were seen contesting the by-polls on the party’s ticket.
