Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge addressed the election meeting at Korba district of Chhattisgarh. While addressing the rally, Congress chief compared the 15 years of BJP with 5 years of Congress government and asked whose tenure was better. He also lashed out at PM Narendra Modi.
“Congress created industry in Korba, but Modi ji says what did Congress do? Even before he was born, Nehru ji had already created many PSUs. Modi ji comments on Congress leaders and says that we provided mobile phones to 140 crore people. Mobile phone is the gift of Rajiv Gandhi,” said Kharge.
“Be it Municipal Corporation elections, District Panchayat elections, Assembly elections or Lok Sabha elections. Modi ji says everywhere in his speeches – vote after seeing my face. Modi ji, you are the Prime Minister, make the country strong, work on women’s safety and education,” added Kharge.
Further attacking PM Modi, Congress Prez Kharge said: “PM Modi had said- Rs 15 lakh will come into everyone’s account, 2 crore jobs will be provided every year, farmers’ income will double, but nothing like this was done. PM Modi always lies.”
Comparing the 15 years of BJP with 5 years of Congress government, Kharge said: “BJP’s contribution was neither in achieving independence nor in working for the people. They just want to rule. You tell me, which is better between 15 years of BJP government and 5 years of Congress government in Chhattisgarh? The answer is- Congress government.”

Further, Mallikarjun Kharge alleged that children and women are dying in Gujarat due to lack of nutrition. Kharge said: “Modi ji, you were the Chief Minister of Gujarat for 13 and a half years and the Prime Minister of the country for 10 years. There is BJP government in Gujarat for 27 years. Yet why are children and women in Gujarat dying due to lack of nutritious food?”
The second phase of Chhattisgarh assembly elections is scheduled to take place on November 17, followed by counting of votes on December 3.
