
On Monday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) released another list of candidates for Chhattisgarh assembly elections scheduled to happen on November 7 and November 17 in first and second phase respectively. The list came after the Election Commission of India (ECI) announced the schedule of election in 5 states including Chhattisgarh.
The BJP has fielded senior party leader former chief minister Raman Singh from 75-Rajnandgaon, which is his traditional constituency. Also, BJP has fielded its state party chief Arun Sao from 26-Lormi, who is also the present Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Bilaspur constituency of Chhattisgarh.
Moreover, Union Minister Renuka Singh and Gomati Sai are also in the list of candidates for state assembly elections, just like party fielded parliamentarians in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for the legislative assembly elections in all the five states including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram and Telangana. Polling in Chhattisgarh will be finished in two phases, i.e., on November 7, 2023 and November 17, 2023, while all other states will observe polling on all seats in a single day. Counting of votes and declaration of results will take place on December 3 for all five states.
