Central Bureau of Investigation has seized around Rs 50 Lakhs cash during raids at the premises of
Karnataka Congress chief DK Shivakumar & his brother-MP, DK Suresh.
CBI has registered a case against the then Minister of Karnataka Government and others, on allegations of acquisition of disproportionate assets. Searches are still being conducted today at 14 locations – including 9 in Karnataka, 4 in Delhi, one in Mumbai.
Earlier today, CBI raids were underway at more than 15 premises of state Congress chief DK Shivakumar and his brother & MP DK Suresh, including the former’s residence at Doddalahalli, Kanakapura, and Sadashiva Nagar, in Bengaluru.
Mr Shivkumar has been facing these inquiries under corruption and money laundering cases. In August 2019, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested Shivakumar in connection with a money laundering case. Though, Shivakumar had strongly denied the allegations describing the case against him as a political vendetta.
