On Sunday, senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament from Jharkhand’s Godda constituency, Dr. Nishikant Dubey, wrote a letter to Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla over alleged re-imergence of “Cash for Query” in parliament. In his letter, the third time MP demanded to constitute an inquiry committee against Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra and her immediate suspension from the House, alleging that ‘bribes were exchanged between Mahua Moitra and businessman Darshan Hiranandani to ask questions in Parliament in exchange for cash and gifts’.
In his letter to Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla, Dr. Nishikant Dubey write: “After having meticulously gone through all the papers/documents, there is not an iota of doubt about a criminal conspiracy hatched by Smt Mohua Moitra, Member of Parliament to garner and protect the business interests of a businessman – Shri Darshan Hiranandani – by asking Parliamentary Questions, which is reminiscent of ‘Cash for Query’ episode of 12 December, 2005. All these nefarious and abhorrent acts of Smt Mohua Moitra is a clear case of ‘Breach of Privilege’, ‘Contempt of the House’ and also a criminal offence under Section 120-A of the Indian Penal Code.”
“Sir, whenever there is a Parliament session, the shouting brigade of All India Trinamool Congress, led by Smt Mohua Moitra and Shri Saugata Roy, are in habit of disrupting the proceedings of the House, by their continued abuses on each and everybody, on one pretext or the other,” Dubey further writes in his letter.

Well, the BJP MP has also attacked Mahua Mitra using a social media post on X. He wrote: “The membership of 11 MPs was canceled by the same Indian Parliament for taking question money, even today theft and swindling will not work, one businessman is bad but another businessman bought 35 pairs of shoes, Hermes, LV, Gucci bag like the soul of Mrs. Marcos, Money will not work through purse, clothes or cash hawala. Membership will go, wait.”

Reacting to the allegations, TMC MP Mahua Moitra also made a social media post on X. She wrote: “Most amused to see some personal photos of me being circulated on social media by @BJP4India’s troll sena. I like green dress better on me than white blouse. And why bother cropping – show rest of the folks at dinner as well. Bengal’s women live a life. Not a lie.”

In a different post on X, TMC MP Mahua Moitra wrote: “Multiple breach of privileges pending against fake degreewala & other @BJP4India luminaries. Welcome any motions against me right after Speaker finishes dealing with those. Also waiting for @dir_ed & others to file FIR in Adani coal scam before coming to my doorstep.”

The response from the Lok Sabha speaker, Om Birla, is still awaited on the issue.
