Bombs were thrown again at Bengal BJP MP Arjun Singh’s house

Bombs were thrown again at Bengal BJP MP Arjun Singh’s house in North 24 Parganas district, a day after the National Investigation Agency instructed investigation for September 8 attack.

On Tuesday Bombs were thrown again at Bengal BJP MP Arjun Singh’s house in North 24 Parganas district, a day after the National Investigation Agency instructed investigation for September 8 attack when three crude bombs were thrown at his house near Kolkata. The CCTV footage is being looked for the bombing by the state police and the bomb squad is also investing the incident.

The same incident took place on September 8, around 6.30 in the morning, three men on a bike threw bombs at the MP’s house in Jagatdal, which is around 100 km from Kolkata. The MP was in Delhi at the time, but his family members were inside the house where no one got injured.

“The (state) government has arrived at the door with a bomb. Now, we have to do something in self-defence. Two months ago, a person in Nabanna was given the responsibility to have me killed,” Mr. Singh was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

The MP Arjun Singh said that the attack on his Bhatpara home following the saffron party’s decision to make him an observer of the Bhabanipur assembly seat for the upcoming by-polls was done by TMC men.

“This is not the first time that TMC workers have hurled bombs at my residence. They are trying to kill me. It was just last night that my party decided to make me an observer for the Bhabanipur constituency and this morning the bombs were hurled,” said the MP who was in Delhi at the time of the incident.

Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankar wrote on Twitter, “Wanton violence in WB shows no sign of abating. Bomb explosions as this morning outside the residence of Member Parliament @ArjunsinghWB are worrisome on law and order.”
