BJP MPs who won assembly elections in Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh resigns from parliament

The MPs who won the assembly elections have resigned from the primary membership of the Lok Sabha. The MPs who resigned are from Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Five MPs from Madhya Pradesh alone have resigned from the membership of Lok Sabha.

Bharatiya Janata Party had fielded 21 MPs in the assembly elections. In this, 11 MPs had won, while 10 MPs had to face defeat. This includes Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, former Union Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Rakesh Singh, Prahlad Singh Patel and Reeti Pathak.

There are five MPs from Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, three and two MPs from Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh respectively have also resigned. In Rajasthan, the names of MPs Balaknath, Diya Kumari and Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore are being discussed the most as contenders for the post of CM.

BJP has won majority in these three states by contesting the elections on the face of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. BJP has not yet announced the name of the Chief Minister for any state.
