“BJP, BRS didn’t give freedom to India,” says Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge in Telangana

The Congress chief also emphasised over six guarantees that the party has announced for Telangana, including 200 unit free electricity, Rs 4000 pension for senior citizens and others.

On Sunday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge addressed back to back two public rallies in the poll-bound Telangana – one in Sangareddy and the second one in Medak. While addressing the rallies, Kharge highlighted the promises made by the Congress party for Telangana assembly elections and he also attacked BJP and BRS over several issues.

Addressing a rally in Sangareddy, Congress chief said that it was Congress who gave new schemes and rights to the citizens. “The UPA government brought new schemes like MNREGA, Right to Education, Food Security, Health Mission. BJP or BRS did not give independence to India. Congress gave independence to the country,” said Kharge.

After Sangareddy, Mallikarjun Kharge addressed another public meeting in Medak where he said that people who belonged to Congress who gave independence to the country. “The people who gave independence to the country, fought for the freedom of the people and made the Constitution belonged to Congress. You should help the party which fights for your rights, to save the Constitution and democracy,” said Kharge.
