Bihar former chief minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav’s elder son Tej Pratap has won the high profile Hasanpur constituency in Samastipur district. He defeated his rival JDU MLA Rajkumar Rai by 14,000 votes.
According to the trends, the NDA will emerge as an absolute majority. However, there are 20 seats where the difference of vote is less than 1000.
Tej Pratap was competing against JDU’s MLA Rajkumar Rai, in the Hasanpur Seat. Since morning, Tej Pratap Yadav was trailing but as the vote-counting proceeded, he took the lead. He continued to maintain his lead which resulted in winning by 13932 votes.
Hasanpur voting was held in the second phase on November 3. Tej Pratap got 62337 votes while his competitor JDU candidate Rajkumar Rai received 48405 votes. Lok Janshakti Party candidate Manish Kumar got a total of 7785 votes.
JDU candidate, Rajkumar Rai won from Hasanpur in 2015. He won his seat for the second consecutive time during that year. He defeated RLSP’s Vinod Chaudhary by colossal 29600 votes.
