On Monday, April 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Germany to attend the 6th India-Germany Inter-Governmental Consultations (IGC) in Berlin. PM Modi is also scheduled to meet German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
This will be the first meeting between PM Modi & Chancellor Scholz. Both the leaders will co-chair the IGC. PM Modi will interact with leaders of the corporate world & is expected to announce partnerships with the government of Germany.
India has the IGC relation only with Germany & it takes place after every two years. PM Narendra Modi has termed this IGC meet as a big opportunity. “I see this IGC as an early engagement with the new government in Germany, within six months of its formation, which will be helpful to identify our priorities for the medium and long term,” he said.
Apart from Germany, PM Modi will also visit Demark where he will hold talks with the waders of the nordic countries. PM Modi’s three-day visit will end on Wednesday as he will visit France to meet President Emmanuel Macron.
