In the midst of persistent farmer protests at the Punjab-Haryana borders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant appearance in Rewari, Haryana, reaffirming his government’s commitment to implementing schemes aimed at benefiting farmers. Addressing the public, PM Modi emphasized the efforts of his government in facilitating access to bank loans for farmers, which had been previously inaccessible to them. He underscored the pivotal role of the government in providing guarantees to farmers, ensuring their financial security.
During his speech, PM Modi took several jabs at the previous Congress-led UPA government, highlighting the strides made by his administration over the past decade, including notable achievements such as India’s historic moon landing. He rallied public support, seeking blessings for a third term to propel India to become the world’s third-largest economy, echoing the slogan “abki baar 400 paar pitch.”
PM Modi’s visit to Haryana comes at a crucial juncture ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections scheduled for April and May, coinciding with the ongoing farmer protests and their ‘Chalo Dilli’ march to demand action from the Centre, including the enactment of Minimum Support Price (MSP) legislation.
Referencing the recent inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, PM Modi underscored his administration’s commitment to development projects, including those worth Rs 10,000 crores in Haryana, such as the Rewari AIIMS, new rail and metro lines, and a museum. Inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for various development projects exceeding Rs 9750 crore in Rewari, PM Modi’s presence was met with felicitations from Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar. CM Khattar lauded PM Modi’s leadership, recalling his past engagements with the region and praising his contributions to fulfilling the aspirations of the people of Rewari.
Acknowledging the significance of the Metro station project in Gurugram, CM Khattar emphasized its potential to benefit not only local residents but also international investors. He expressed confidence in PM Modi’s leadership, particularly following the inauguration of the Ram Mandir, citing increased trust and support for the government’s initiatives.
