Nepal Earthquake Latest Update: Death toll rises to 143, PM Modi assures ‘all possible assistance’

Nepal Police Headquarters has informed that the death toll has increased to 143 and rescue operation is still underway.

On the Friday night, a powerful earthquake hit Nepal and the tremors of the same were felt in the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) and some parts of North India, including Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. Well, this tragic disaster has now left over 140 people dead. The recent update shared by the Nepal Police Headquarters has informed that the death toll has increased to 143 and rescue operation is still underway.

“Honorable Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has expressed his deep sorrow over the human and material damage caused by the earthquake at Ramidanda in Jajarkot at 11:47 on Friday night and has mobilized all 3 security agencies for the immediate rescue and relief of the injured,” said Prime Minister Office of Nepal in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).

Even Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his solidarity with people of Nepal and has also assured all possible assurance. “Deeply saddened by loss of lives and damage due to the earthquake in Nepal. India stands in solidarity with the people of Nepal and is ready to extend all possible assistance. Our thoughts are with the bereaved families, and we wish the injured a quick recovery.

The tremors were also felt in New-Delhi and Patna, Bihar, after which people rushed out of their houses for their safety.
