One person died and three others were rescued after a car was swept away by floodwaters in Maharashtra’s Beed district, officials confirmed on Tuesday. The incident occurred around midnight on Sunday on the Kaudgaon Huda–Kasarwadi road in Parli, which was inundated following heavy rains.
According to officials, the four individuals were returning to Digras after attending a marriage function in Parli when their vehicle was caught in the flood and dragged away. While three passengers managed to escape with the help of locals and rescue teams, one victim could not be saved.
The district administration has urged people to avoid travelling on waterlogged routes amid the heavy rainfall and has intensified rescue measures in flood-prone areas.
