
Ladies will be able to board local trains from October 17 between 11 AM and 3 PM and again post 7 PM till the services continue, in Mumbai and the MMR (Mumbai Metropolitan Region). On Friday, the Maharashtra government issued the notification allowing ladies to continue travel after the Coronavirus lockdown.
“During the mentioned period, services will may be made available to ladies with valid tickets and to all emergency staff. QR codes will not be a necessity,” said the government.
In Mumbai, Western Railways AC train services have started as of today and had added 194 more train services on October 15 in bid to reduce overcrowding.
The state government has also laid rules for all commuters. They will have to follow the social distancing norms, wear masks while boarding and at railway stations.
Metro trains will also be operating from October 19, the first service starting at 8:30 am. The operations will commence again under Maha government’s ‘Mission Begin Again.’ Metro train services will be following the required SOPs.
