In connection with the land for job case, the Enforcement Directorate searched 24 locations in Delhi, the National Capital Region, Patna, Mumbai, and Ranchi on Saturday. They found cash valued at Rs 1 crore, foreign currency, including USD 1900, 540 gms of gold bullion, and more than 1.5 kg of gold jewelery. In addition to this, a number of other incriminating records, including various property records and sale deeds among others kept in family members’ names, pointed to the illegitimate acquisition of a sizable land bank and electronic equipment.
The inquiry also showed that Tejashwi Yadav’s account received the bulk of the money that was thus received. Inquiries found that numerous poor candidates and parents had their lands seized in exchange for Group D posts in the Railways. Investigation results showed that more than 50% of hired candidates were from Lalu Yadav families’ electoral districts in numerous Railways Zones. There is still more work to be done in this area.
Further investments made on behalf of Lalu Yadav’s family and their colleagues in numerous industries, including real estate at various locations, are being looked into.
Searches led to the discovery of proceeds of crime estimated to total 600 crore rupees at this time, distributed among 350 crore rupees in moveable property and 250 crore rupees in transactions that used different benamidaars. The family of the former Rail Minister, Lalu Prasad Yadav, fraudulently purchased multiple plots of land at prominent places in Patna and other areas in exchange for jobs offered in the railroads, according to the PMLA probe done thus far. These land tracts are currently worth more than Rs 200 crore on the market. Many benamidars, shell companies, and beneficial owners of these lands have been found in this regard. An inquiry by the ED revealed that four land parcels purchased by the Lalu Yadav family for just Rs 7.5 lakh from Group-D applicants were collusively transferred to Syed Abu Dojana by former RJD MLA Rabri Devi for Rs 3.5 crore. All legal requirements were strictly followed when conducting the searches, and proper consideration was given to any ladies, children, or old individuals who might have been present.
At the moment, additional investigations are still being conducted.
