
On Wednesday, Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai proliferated his Cabinet by inducting 29 ministers. The oath-taking BJP MLAs were R Ashok, B Sriramulu, Govind Karjol and KS Eshwarappa. Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot administered the oath of office at a swearing-in ceremony conducted at Raj Bhavan.
Before the commencement of the oath-taking ceremony, Bommai proclaimed that the new Cabinet will comprise of seven Other Backward Class (OBC), 3 scheduled Caste (SC), one Scheduled Tribe (ST), seven Vokkaligas, eight Linagayats, one Reddy and one woman. Additionally, he informed that this time there will be no appointment of Deputy Chief Minister in the council.
Amongst the 29 ministers, 23 were previously a part of the B S Yediyurappa cabinet. The re-elected members were:

The newly elected members are V Sunil Kumar (Karkala), Araga Jnanendra (Thirthahalli), Munirathna (R R Nagar), Halappa Achar (Yelburga), Shankar Patil Munenkopp (Navalgunda) and BC Nagesh (Tiptur). CM Bommai has also designated 10 MLAs who had recently joined BJP after quitting Congress-JD(S) coalition in 2019. Moreover, Yediyurappa’s younger son and state BJP Vice President B Y Vijayendra is not listed among the elected candidates.
