According to the guidelines, all people will have to experience a Polymerase Chain Reaction test on the arrival day and also after nine days after arriving. However, currently, only citizens and transit passengers are permitted to fly to the UAE.
The coronavirus death toll has touched 2,018 in UAE with 708,302 active cases, as reported by Johns Hopkins University.
The latest comes a day after the UAE on Saturday said that Indian passengers can take a rapid PCR test six hours before their departure instead of four hours now. The UAE has made this test mandatory for passengers from India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Nigeria and Uganda. The UAE is only offering visas to Indians nationals, the United Kingdom or an EU Member State.
Passengers starting from Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Ras al-Khaimah Airports (RKT), needs to undergo a 10 day home quarantine ritual upon arrival in RKT and a mandated 12 day home/institutional quarantine in AUH. Furthermore, passengers should wear a medically tested wristband, offered by the authorities at the airport immigration. Lastly, passengers should ensure to download and register on the Alhosn app, through UID and phone number.
