As per the recent reports, Pakistan has decided to permit Sikh pilgrims to visit Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur from next month amidst the restraints to curb the fourth mutant wave of the coronavirus.
The decision to keep on display the Kartarpur shrine was initiated by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) on Saturday to observe the approaching death anniversary of Sikh Guru Baba Guru Nanak Dev on September 22.
Dawn, Pakistan’s newspaper outlet reported that the NCOC meeting harmoniously decided to permit Sikh pilgrims to visit Kartarpur next month following the COVID-19 built-in protocols.
However, like other countries, now fully vaccinated persons who possess the vaccination certificates for both the dozes will be allowed to enter and visit Pakistan. Nevertheless, the person should have undergone the real-time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test reports which should not exceed the 72 hours old slab.
Apart from this, Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) will also be conducted at airports and in case of a positive result, the individual will not be allowed to enter Pakistan. Besides this, according to the non-pharmaceutical interventions (NPIs), a maximum of only 300 people will be allowed to assemble near the darbar at a specific time.
Pakistan had listed India under Category C about the Delta variant spread of coronavirus in India from May 22 to August 12, due to which any external movement into Pakistan will undergo special permission from the concerned authority. Nevertheless, a Rapid Antigen Test is also scaled down by the government to ensure negligible discrepancy while the gathering.
