HP: Firing at Sanwara toll barrier, judge’s son in custody

Solan, Dec 23 : A Firing incident occurred on the National Highway no-5 on the Sanwara Riad road plaza in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday here.

This alleged incident occurred in a move to threaten the staff of the Sanwara Toll Tax Barrier on Kalka-Shimla Highway. According to the police report two f two rounds of bullets were fired by the accused without any provocation.

Superintendent of Police Solan Gaurav Singh gave information about the matter. He said that a case is being registered under Section 307 of the IPC and Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act.

The vehicle and weapons have also been seized although detailed information may take time, but according to preliminary information, the son of a judge of Chandigarh fired two rounds at the toll plaza.

It is being told that the accused did not want to pay toll tax. He flaunted his father’s position.

Toll tax staff said that exemption in toll tax can be given only if the judge is present in the vehicle. It is being told that an atmosphere of chaos was created after the firing of bullets at the toll plaza.

The incident is said to have taken place between 4 and 5 pm. There is no report of any casualty in the firing. Police are also examining the CC footage of the toll plaza. On the other hand, a case is being registered against the accused under the attempt to Murder and Arms Act. Accused Akhileshwar has been detained.
