Hathras Gangrape Case: Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal joins protest at Jantar Mantar

Earlier, Kejriwal had termed the death of Hathras gang-rape victim a matter of shame for the country. He also added that it is a shame for the government and demanded the accused to be hanged.

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has joined the protest at Jantar Mantar over the Hathras Gangrape Case.

“There should be no politics on this issue. Why should such an incident happen in UP, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Mumbai or Delhi? No rape incidents should happen in the country,” says Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal at Jantar Mantar.

Earlier, Kejriwal had termed the death of Hathras gang-rape victim a matter of shame for the country. He also added that it is a shame for the government and demanded the accused to be hanged.

The girl was allegedly gang-raped on September 14 by four men and then she died two weeks later on September 29. The victim was tortured with her tongue cut and spine broken. Her dead of the night cremation by UP Police has created an uproar across the country.

Reportedly, the district has been locked, leaders of the opposition parties have been manhandled and denied the right to meet the victim’s kin. Section 144 of the CrPC has been imposed for a month in the district.

Multiple protests across the country have erupted to demand justice for the victim.
