
With COVID cases declining in the Haryana state the government has given a green signal to resume offline classes in both government and private schools in the state.
The order issued by the Directorate School Education, offline classes will resume for students of Classes IX-XII from July 16. For Classes VI-VIII, the offline classes will resume from July 23.
The order mentioned that a decision on resuming offline classes for students of Classes I-V will be taken later.
According to the order, online classes will be ongoing and students who want to continue taking them will be allowed to do so. It adds that students will be allowed to attend school only by receiving written permission from their parents.
The order has also said that no student will be forced to attend offline classes at school.
Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal in the press conference told the media that the number of Covid cases in the state has dropped and the decision to reopen schools has been taken keeping the situation in mind. He said a decision on resuming offline classes for younger students will also be taken if the situation remains under control.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar yesterday in the press release said that the COVID has curved and it flattened for now. “Therefore, while ensuring strict adherence of COVID-19, the educational institutions should be reopened at the earliest.”
As per the Union Health Ministry data, Haryana today reported 55 new COVID cases and 10 deaths. The number of active cases in the state is 1,034.
