Govt to celebrate ‘Good Governance’ week from Dec 20-26

The Centre will be celebrating Good Governance Week from 20th December till 25th December as per the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievance (DARPG).

Good Governance Day (Sushasan Divas) is celebrated annually on 25th December, which marks the birth anniversary of former-Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. However, this time Centre is all set to celebrate Good Governance Week that begins on 20th December along with the states.

The motto behind the Good Governance Week is (Prashasan Gaon Ki Aur) which is to take good administration down to the villages. The main aim will be to resolve and amend the pending public grievances across the country. The aim is “citizen-focused” as said by a senior official.

The guidelines have already been issued and shared via WhatsApp groups with the respective states. The whole campaign will be under the surveillance of the central government through the portal created. The district collectors are also expected to be present in the villages till the campaign for better execution.

A Good Governance Index will also be launched on December 25. Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be present to conclude the ‘Good Governance Week’ on December 25.
