A fire broke out earlier today in the Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Government Medical College.

Kolhapur: A fire broke out earlier today in the Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Government Medical College. The police later reported that there were no casualties found in the fire that broke out and was later brought in control. However, 4 patients out of 15 who were in the trauma centre were shifted to a different place when the incident took place.

Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahuji Maharaj Government Medical College and CPR Hospital Kolhapur is a medical college and affiliate hospital located in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. This institute provides training to about 600 students in undergraduate and postgraduate medical courses. A nursing school is also maintained by the institution. The hospital has 18 wards with a total of 665 beds and operates with the help of 378 staff and honorary physicians. Including 6050 nursing staff members and 1566 paramedics. Thus, if the fire would have been out of control then a huge loss could have occurred.

The cause of the incident is yet to be found.
