External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to virtually attend intra-Afgan talks in Doha today

This counts as an important move for India, in acknowledging power-sharing arrangements in Kabul. India is Afghanistan’s major ally in terms of development. India has built infrastructure projects in the country such as India Afghanistan friendship dam in the western province of Herat & the Afghan Parliament in capital Kabul.

India will be attending the intra-Afghan ceremony in Doha today. Joint Secretary, Pakistan Afghanistan & Iran (PAI) division in the ministry of external affairs, JP Singh will be present physically and Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar will join virtually.

India was present at the signing of US Taliban deal signed on February 29 in Doha. The then Indian envoy in Doha P Kumaran represented India.
