Central government of India provides security detail to VIPs of India who are at high life risk. Depending upon the threatening perception, they are given security of one of the following 4 categories, namely: Z plus category, Z category, Y category and X category. Z plus category is the highest security detail of India after SPG category which is provided only to the prime minister of India.

Z plus is a security detail of 55 personnel. It includes more than 10 National Security Guard commandos and police personnel. Other Central Security Forces like CISF, CRPF, ITBP etc. are also accorded whenever the needed.
Protection:-
The National Security Guard commandos are armed with Heckler and Koch MP5 sub machine guns. Each member is expert in martial art and unarmed combat skills. This security also includes 1–2 warning cars, front and rear Pilot and 3–4 Escorts in 3 shifts (state police), Ambulance, Jammer, 2–4 Follow Up cars carrying the Close Protection Team(CPT) and Personal Security Officers(PSO), Armored/Bullet-resistant cars (1 main+1spare). This forms the core of any Z plus cover motorcade.
Who gets Z plus category security in India?
Currently 17 VIPs of India are getting Z+ category security in India. The list includes Farookh Abdulla, Rajnath Singh, Ajit Doval etc.
