
Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, visited one of the men’s hostels on a “sudden and unauthorized” basis, the Delhi University said on Saturday, raising major security concerns. The DU authorities would make sure that such instances don’t occur again.
On Friday, Gandhi paid a visit to the Post Graduate Men’s Hostel. He engaged the students in conversation and shared lunch with them.
In a statement, the DU said that the visit caused numerous students’ lunchtimes to be disturbed and caused major security concerns for them. It stated that the university officials were notified about it by the hostel administration and guards.
The university stated ,”Rahul Gandhi, along with many outsiders, made a sudden and unauthorized entry into the P G Men’s hostel in the lunch hour on 05/05/2023 without any prior intimation.”
“It disrupted the lunch of many inmates, who got annoyed due to the chaos created by his entry along with the mob accompanying him. This entry raises serious security concerns for the hostel inmates and the leader. University authorities will take necessary steps to avoid such incidents of this trespassing and will ensure that this does not happen in the future again,” the university continued.
