On July 20, an alert was issued to the Delhi Police warning them of a major terror activity that might be executed in the national capital with the help of drones.
ANI quoted sources who notified that the terrorists and anti-social elements can execute this attack ahead of August 15.
Several media reports suggests that as Jammu and Kashmir lost its statehood and Article 370 was abrogated on August 5, 2019, it is assumed that the terror attack might take place on its anniversary.
According to ABP news report, the terrorists are conspiring to initiate ‘Operation Jihad’ in Delhi.
Meanwhile, the two Al-Qaeda terrorist who were arrested in Uttar Pradesh had confessed that the terrorists were planning to execute a major terrorist attack in Delhi ahead of the Independence Day, August 15.
Reportedly, Delhi Police and other security forces are receiving special training to deal with UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) attacks, along with soft skills and hard kill training.
On the other hand, the Indian Air Force has introduced a special drone control room. The number of anti drone systems installed at Red Fort before the Independence day has also been doubled to four.
Earlier on June 21, India reported its first ever drone attack at an Indian Air Force (IAF) station in Jammu. Two explosive laden drones crashed into the Jammu airbase leading to two explosions.
