Commissioner Kumar stated that Dr. Ajay Taware, head of the forensics department, and Dr. Shrihari Harnor, chief medical officer at Sassoon, were arrested for tampering with blood reports and evidence related to the accident.

The Pune Porsche accident, which is being investigated by the crime branch, has seen multiple officials come under scrutiny. Days before the doctors’ arrests, an inspector and another official from Yerwada police station were suspended for delaying the report of the offence and failing in their duty. They are also accused of not taking the teenager for a timely medical examination after the crash.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of May 19, resulted in the deaths of two young IT professionals. Their motorcycle was struck by a speeding Porsche Taycan allegedly driven by the minor.
