In January, a crude bomb went off near the Embassy of Israel on Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Road in Delhi. It reportedly shattered windscreens of three cars on the road.
The case is being probed by the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The Special Cell in Delhi registered a case of “conspiracy” behind the blast. It picked up the four students from Kargil.
The blast took place near the Israel Embassy on the evening of January 29. The Delhi Police special cell has arrested four students from Ladakh in connection to the low-intensity IED blast.
The Indian Express was informed by police sources that the students were detained from Kargil. On Thursday, they were brought to Delhi for questioning.
The NIA had declared last week, a reward of Rs 10 lakh each for the identification of two people captured on CCTV camera. They were captured planting explosive material outside the Israeli embassy.
The case was transferred to the NIA after the special cell failed to get any breakthrough.
A senior police officer said, “The New Delhi range of special cell had lodged an FIR of criminal conspiracy and they were conducting their investigation alongside. Police have zeroed in on four local students of Kargil. Police are questioning them and trying to ascertain their role.”
