CM Nitish Kumar says, there will be no compensation for those who died from drinking alcohol

CM Nitish Kumar stated that he has been urging people not to drink alcohol, and that following this incident, he will do so once more.

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Friday that no compensation will be paid to those who died in the state after drinking tainted alcohol. While speaking to the state assembly about the alcohol ban in Bihar, the chief minister said that he has been telling people that if they drink alcohol, they will die.

On Tuesday, approximately 60 people died after consuming tainted alcohol in Bihar’s Chhapra. Concerns have been raised about the state’s firm stance on the alcohol ban.

It was also reported that five people died from alcohol poisoning in the state’s Siwan city on Friday, following Chhapra.

The Chief Minister stated that the deaths of people in Bihar are constantly highlighted, and he will use the same message to urge people to stop drinking alcohol. He said, “If you will die from drinking alcohol and think we will give compensation, it is not going to happen.”

Emphasising the support given by the state government, CM said, ” We are trying to support you…so you do the good work, don’t do this kind (alcohol drinking) a bad thing.”

He stated that people are dying in states where alcohol is not prohibited, citing Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh as examples.”See in those states too where alcohol is not banned, there also people die from drinking.”

Nitish Kumar stated that he will once again appeal to people that drinking alcohol will not be fruitful to them in any way.
