Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said on Friday that no compensation will be paid to those who died in the state after drinking tainted alcohol. While speaking to the state assembly about the alcohol ban in Bihar, the chief minister said that he has been telling people that if they drink alcohol, they will die.
On Tuesday, approximately 60 people died after consuming tainted alcohol in Bihar’s Chhapra. Concerns have been raised about the state’s firm stance on the alcohol ban.
It was also reported that five people died from alcohol poisoning in the state’s Siwan city on Friday, following Chhapra.
The Chief Minister stated that the deaths of people in Bihar are constantly highlighted, and he will use the same message to urge people to stop drinking alcohol. He said, “If you will die from drinking alcohol and think we will give compensation, it is not going to happen.”
