“Babasaheb gave independent India a strong foundation”: PM Narendra Modi addresses association of Indian Universities virtually

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released four books based on Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s life, written by Kishor Makwana.

On Wednesday, April 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addresses association of Indian Universities annual meet via video conference. While attending the conference, PM Modi paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on his Jayanti.

While addressing, Prime Minister said– “Babasaheb Ambedkar gave a strong foundation to independent India so the nation could move forward while strengthening its democratic heritage.”

He further said, “What students can achieve depends on inner strength. If institutional strength is provided too, they can accomplish what they aspire. Teachers must explore 3 questions for students, what they’re capable of, what can they achieve with more support & what they want to do,” as quoted by ANI.

Prime Minister Office (PMO) also reported, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released four books based on Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar’s life, written by Kishor Makwana.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also said, “Doctor Ambedkar used to say-I have three worship deities. Knowledge, self-respect and modesty .That is, knowledge, self-respect, and politeness.”

Prime Minister also added– “When knowledge comes, only then self-respect also increases. By self-respect, a person is aware of his rights, his rights. And equal rights bring harmony in the society, and the country progresses.”

PM Modi said, “Baba Saheb spoke of equal opportunities, equal rights. Today, the country is making economic inclusion of every person through Jan Dhana accounts. Through the DBT, the money of the poor is getting directly into his account.”

While addressing, PM also said, “Every student has his own ability, ability. On the basis of these abilities, students and teachers also have three questions. What a student can do is his inner strength. But if we give them institutional strength along with their inner strength, then their development gets wider. With this combination, our youth can do what they want to do. Today the country is also working to spread the life message of Babasaheb to the people. Places associated with Baba Saheb are being developed as Panch Tirtha.”

Bowing to the great Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on Ambedkar Jayanti, the Prime Minister tweeted, “His struggle to bring the deprived section into the mainstream will remain an example for generations to come.”
