As the investigation into the tragic shooting of senior NCP leader Baba Siddique intensifies, Mumbai Police have seized a 9mm pistol believed to have been used in the attack. The incident occurred near Kherwadi Junction, where three bike-borne assailants fired at the former Congress MLA with the weapon. Two suspects, hailing from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, were arrested on Saturday night as part of the probe, while a third suspect remains at large.
The police are actively searching for the third individual involved in the attack, which has shocked both political and local communities in Mumbai. Baba Siddique, a key political figure, was well known for his annual iftar parties attended by Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan. He had recently joined the NCP under Ajit Pawar’s leadership after years of service in the Congress party.
Siddique’s death has prompted swift police action, with officials leaving no stone unturned to bring all responsible parties to justice. His son, Zeeshan Siddique, the current MLA for Bandra East, is closely monitoring the investigation.
