
Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde arrived at Lilavati Hospital to express his condolences following the tragic shooting of former MLA Baba Siddique in Bandra East. Shinde called the incident deeply unfortunate and reassured the public that swift justice would be served. He confirmed that two suspects have been arrested, one from Uttar Pradesh and the other from Haryana, while a third suspect remains at large.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the police are actively pursuing the absconding suspect and have been directed to maintain law and order throughout Mumbai. “We will not tolerate such acts of violence in our state,” Shinde stated, as the city reels from the shock of the incident.
Baba Siddique, a prominent political figure who recently joined the NCP after leaving Congress, was shot dead by unidentified assailants. He was well known for hosting high-profile iftar parties attended by Bollywood celebrities. His son, Zeeshan Siddique, the current MLA for Bandra East, is overseeing the situation as investigations continue.
Siddique’s death has sent shockwaves through political and local communities, and officials are working diligently to bring all culprits to justice.
