75th Independence Day: Mamata Banerjee pens patriotic song on India’s unity

The song called “Desh ta sobar nijer” (this country belongs to us all) was sung by Indranil Sen, Monomoy Bhattacharya, Trisha Parui, and Debojyoti Ghosh.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Sunday released a new patriotic song penned by her on Facebook. The song is an ode to the country’s unity. 

The song called “Desh ta sobar nijer” (this country belongs to us all) was sung by Indranil Sen, Monomoy Bhattacharya, Trisha Parui, and Debojyoti Ghosh.

About the song, she wrote in Bengali, “I pay my respects to the motherland on the 75th Independence Day of India. On this auspicious day, there was a song in my composition and thoughts for everyone. The tradition of unity, harmony and interfaith harmony has enhanced the pride of this country. Our oath today is to keep that tradition intact as citizens.” 

“এই ধরণীর মাটির বাঁধনবাঁধুক জোরে মোদের,সোনার চেয়েও যে খাঁটিদেশটা সবার নিজের।”ভারতবর্ষের ৭৫ তম স্বাধীনতা দিবসে দেশমাতৃকাকে আমার প্রণাম জানাই। আজকের এই শুভ দিনে আমার রচনা ও ভাবনায় একটি গান রইল সবার জন্য। গানটিতে কণ্ঠ দিয়েছেন ইন্দ্রনীল সেন, মনোময় ভট্টাচার্য, তৃষা পাড়ুই ও দেবজ্যোতি বোস। দেশবাসীকে জানাই শুভেচ্ছা ও অভিনন্দন। ঐক্য, সম্প্রীতি ও সর্বধর্ম সমন্বয়ের পরম্পরা এই দেশের গৌরব বৃদ্ধি করেছে। নাগরিক হিসেবে সেই ঐতিহ্য অটুট রাখাই হোক আমাদের আজকের শপথ।

Bannerjee on Sunday unfurled the National Flag during a parade on Red Road in Kolkata on the occasion of Independence Day. 

According to NDTV, The chief minister also awarded several police personnel for their gallantry. She also paid tribute to the police memorial and at a statue of Nethaji Subhash Chandra Bose, whose 125th birth anniversary was celebrated this year.

Early Sunday, Banerjee took to Twitter to extend her wishes for 75th Independence Day. “On the 75th Independence Day, let us all come together to strengthen our voices against all forces that aim to stifle our freedom. We must never forget the sacrifice of those who fought a long and hard battle for this day,” she wrote on Twitter.
