
Monday night Baramati taluka police carried out an operation in heavy rain. A tempo (MH 10. CR 4326) on Baramati road was seized containing 312 kg of cannabis (Ganja) which valued at an estimate of 46 lakhs.
According to media reports this cannabis was to come from Visakhapatanam and to be sold in Satara, Sangli district. There was a blockade set up by police but despite this tempo went away. A private car helped the police to chase the tempo, and stopped the tempo. All the accused were arrested by the police. The Sub-Divisional officer Narayan Shrigaonkar considered this as the biggest operation in Pune District

Vijay Jalindar Kanase (age 26, resident of Kanarwadi, Tal. Kadegaon, Dist. Sangli), Vishal Manohar Rathod (age 19, resident of Nagewadi, Vita, Tal, Khanapur, Dist. Sangli), Nilesh Tanaji Chavan (age 32, resident of Andhli). The arrested have been identified as Maan, Satara and Yogesh Shivaji Bhagat (22, resident of Sablewadi, Shirsufal, Baramati). A case has been registered against them.
